StreamFeed: Digg for the impatient
Yesterday I launched StreamFeed which is a different take on digg, which makes things simpler, faster, and simply makes digg better for the people who actually want to read the content that has been on the digg frontpage.
When I say it’s simpler and faster I mean that I’ve taken digg, and via the api, I’ve stripped it of all the features except for the frontpage. If you try to go to digg you will be bombarded with ads and long load times due to javascript and other nonsense. With StreamFeed everything loads in an instant!
Another thing I did was took a new look at the rss feed that digg offers. Currently, when you subscribe to the digg feed, the feed will give you links to a page on digg with a description of the story that has been dugg. What I’ve done is I’ve taken the feed and made it directly link to the site that has been dugg.
The whole idea behind the StreamFeed is to speed up digg, and make it easier to browse. I think the mission has been accomplished. In the coming weeks/months I will introduce new features which will benefit the user. So go check it out

I like the idea, the modified feed probably being the best part about it. I don’t think you should have copied the Digg logo or header though. I hate it when shit does that. Like all those Twitter API sites, it’s just lame. Also, the name is too general. I would have called it “DiggMinus” — it’s a better Digg so DiggPlus comes to mind but it has much less features therefore DiggMinus.
