Welcome to the new Jakedahn.com

Hey everyone! I think I did it, I actually kept a promise! I said I would release the new design on July 1st. I am now sitting here writing this at 3:30am 4:30 (since fucking wordpress “accidentally” deleted my post) on July 1st. You should all be proud.

The new design will bring a few changes along with it. I will be posting much more often. I plan on writing a lot, so that I can have a “backlog” so one day when I say: “Ahhh, fuck it I don’t feel like writing!” I will have a backup. The new writing that I will be doing will hopefully be getting better and better as time goes on. I believe that my english skills are up to par, but nothing over. So with writing for the blog, my writing skills get a lot better.

I will be writing about a wide range of stuff now. A lot of the stuff that I nearly “refused” to talk about will now be posted about. So this means stuff and personal experiences with things like Out of Body Experiences (OBEs as I will call them), more personal stuff, more rants, more tech, maybe a few tutorials about many different things.

With the new design comes a whole new aspect of blogging, for me anyway. I see blogging as a free publishing service. I’m going to try and use this service to the full extent possible. I would like to start writing a lot of stuff, to keep people coming back, or at least teach them something. The new design is made to fit large sized posts very well, so when I decide to have a nice long rant, or a huge tutorial, everything should be set for the readers to read away.

The only thing that I am really worried about right now is people complaining about the design. Yeah yeah yeah, sure the comment section is ugly and stuff like that. But you must all realize that I pushed this one out pretty damn fast. I will be periodically adding features to the design. Whether it be better comment styling or better sidebar styling. Either way, the design is only going to get better from here on out. I think that most, if not all, of you can appreciate the way things are looking right now :)

So as I said the design isn’t quite finished, there are still some things that need to be added. Like in the sidebar for example, it’s a tad bit empty. It will look much much better once there is some actual content up in there. I hope to have the sidebar looking nice and full within a week or so.

This is going to be a real challenge for me, to find the inspiration to write daily, about the many things I plan on writing about. I think that it will be fun, and that everyone will enjoy what I have to say. If you at all don’t enjoy what I’m trying to say, just let me know. The way I see it, blogging is like reading a book, but with the added fun of being able to bitch back and fourth with the author. So I would encourage you all to post comments.

Anyway, I’m falling asleep as I type, it is now 5am. So, Happy Reading and I just want to say Thanks to anyone who has been there, and will continue to be there, to help inspire me in the many fields that I would like to write in. Thanks! (also checkout http://hyperboledesign.com)

Whoa! Nice going mate! Just a tip: it gets horizontal scroll bars on 1024×768, and you really should justify the text ;-)
    Other than that, looking good!
    Congrats!

Looks nice Jake. You just using WP and your theme? Or are you using any k2? Anyway, great job.

Nando: I’ll think about it ;)

Culver: No k2. I’ll probably never use k2 for a base of a design, I like making stuff from scratch, makes me feel all warm and fuzzie inside :D
